The Spencers and Forresters gather to comfort Thomas and Douglas following the news that Ridge and Rick’s ex-wife Caroline Spencer has died. The families hold a memorial for Caroline, and Thomas is touched by Hope’s connection with Douglas. There’s a surprising fluttering of romance between Bill and Katie after Katie realises that the Bill she originally fell in love with is back. Brooke is filled with rage when she comes across Taylor and Ridge kissing, and Sally and Thomas make up.

Nurse Shelly points the finger at Kristen when Marlena nearly dies after Leo’s murderous mom Diana gives her poisoned biscuits, and Diana attacks Marlena in hospital again. Sarah kisses Eric, and John tells Leo that he’s his biological father, making Leo and Brady half-brothers. Gabi tricks Leo into taking useless information back to Stefan when Leo tries to manipulate Brady into giving him sensitive info on Titan. Marlena has visions of dead Salem folk including Tony DiMera while she hovers between life and death, JJ proposes to Haley, and Ben saves Ciara during a shooting at the DiMera mansion.

Nick and Billy hide Nikki, Victoria and Sharon at the Abbott cabin while they set a trap for JT, and Victor shows up to rescue his family. Summer and Kyle shock their families with news of their engagement but Kyle admits to Maria that he’s only marrying Summer in exchange for her becoming an organ donor for Lola.
