Ellen’s Game Of Games

-

Season 2 Weekdays M-Net (*101) 18:00 Reality

It’s all fun and games from Monday 15 April in Ellen’s Game Of Games (2017current), the spin- off from The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2003- current) as the slime flies and contestants are dumped into vats of real lemon meringue pie and mashed potato that are freshly made before filming. “We should try lettuce to have at least some health food,” jokes Ellen. “We have made the existing games bigger for this season and we introduce new games too,” says Ellen’s co-host Stephen “tWitch” Boss, adding that a lot of preparation work goes on for each episode. “Mashing that many potatoes is a lot of work!”

1 tWitch tested the new games, including Mount St Ellen and one with a spinning chair that’s controlled by Ellen herself. “I was so dizzy when I got off, I fell over,” says the co-host. 2 Safety has always been a priority and the crew test each game twice on the morning of filming, with daily maintenance records logged. 3 Ellen’s safety is as important as the contestants’ and there is one very important clause in their contracts: do not hug Ellen too hard. She’s had significant back problems over the years and even took off a few days from The Ellen Show in 2018 to rest. 4 The slime being used is regular toy slime that the show has produced by a local toy company. It’s non-toxic but takes “at least two showers to get out of your hair and ears,” says tWitch. 5 The games are all made locally too in LA by the same company that makes set games for shows like Wipeout USA (2008- current) and American Ninja Warriors (2009- current).
