Three’s a crowd

Things at the commune get uncomfortable when local hottie Luyolo finds himself drawn to two housemates.

-

It’s no secret: newbie doctor Luyolo (Karabo Maseko) is a snack. And the ladies both on- and offscreen agree. He’s in such high demand that the doc will soon be grabbing the attention of two equally fierce ladies. But Karabo is the first to deny that his character is a ladies’ man. “He’s very good-looking, and he’s never had a problem with the ladies. But he’s no womaniser or player.” Despite this, Luyolo is about to find himself in a tricky love triangle…

COMMUNE CRUSH

Luyolo recently moved in with the rowdy bunch at the commune, sharing space with Mpho (Junior Singo), Tracy (Zizipho Buti) and Lesedi (Luyanda Mzazi). It’s still early days, but Karabo believes that Luyolo’s new living arrangements are going swimmingly. “He’s fitting in, building a friendship with Mpho. Tracy thinks he’s cool,” says Karabo. Lesedi though is keeping her distance, explains the actor: “She had a crush on Luyolo long before he moved in. She’s a little awkward around her crush.”

OKAY CUPID

The two won’t be able to circle around each other for much longer since Tracy wants to play matchmaker. “She’s been working hard to set them up, giving

Lesedi a lot of advice including finding out about Luyolo’s interests,” explains Karabo. And it isn’t long before Tracy’s hard work pays off as Karabo tells us that Lesedi “finally gets her guy”.

Lesedi’s loved-up moment seems to be heading for a crash days later when Tracy is gazing into Luyolo’s eyes with sudden admiration. “There’s a moment of attraction,” says Karabo, whose character is surprised by his interest in both women. “He’s confused! He honestly doesn’t know what to do,” adds Karabo. And it gets awkward very quickly, with Luyolo unsure who he wants.

TAKE YOUR PICK

For now, the housemates are blissfully unaware that Luyolo has his eyes on both of them, with Karabo explaining that the two women have traits that his character finds irresistible. “Tracy is relaxed and fun-loving, while he enjoys conversations with Lesedi. He loves that she’s quirky and kind.”

When asked who’s ahead in the race for Luyolo’s heart, Karabo isn’t saying a word. But he does say that his character isn’t going to date them both at the same time. “Luyolo is just not that kind of guy. He’s a good guy who doesn’t want to hurt anybody, but he also needs to follow his heart.” He’d better find a solution soon, because this three-way can only end in heartbreak.
