Minx on a mission

Gigi has got a taste for blood and big bucks, and she’s going to be Muzi’s Missus… one way or another.

-

Make no mistake: escort madam Georgina aka Gigi (Nambitha Ben-Mazwi) doesn’t dabble in the business. But she does know how to use her feminine wiles to get ahead in her personal life. “Gigi knows how to lure in property developer Muzi (Sdumo Mtshali). She uses her body and sex and she gets him to fall in love with her. But there is actual romance despite the fact that he’s married,” says Nambitha. Muzi and his architect business partner wife Lwandle (Jo-Anne Reyneke) have been trying to have a baby for years following an offscreen miscarriage and that has left cracks in their marriage, which Nambitha says Gigi is happy to take advantage of. “Gigi has spotted the gaps and she has used that to target Muzi. She has what he wants: a womb.” Gigi has her own agenda and she’s going to remind Muzi of her “abilities”.

GOOD GIRL GONE

Gigi is only 23 but she’s lived a lifetime that others could dream of, explains the actress who plays her. “Georgina comes from a well-off family. Her father (offscreen) is Lwandle’s pastor, which is how she knows about Muzi and Lwandle. She is a college dropout who hasn’t had to deal with consequences because she’s always talked her way out of trouble.”

Muzi isn’t sure what he wants at the moment. He loves his wife deeply, but the temptation at every turn with Gigi proves too much. “She makes life and love exciting for him. Gigi knows that an office romp for Muzi is exciting because his wife won’t give him that. She’s a bit too prim and proper,” says Nambitha, adding that her character has two faces. “She has this good-girl image on Sunday at church for her parents, and the other when she’s working. They would not understand.” And they’d be raging if Gigi wrecked a home by being “the other woman”.

HAVING HER CAKE

Gigi isn’t selfish though and she reminds Muzi that she’s in this for the long haul. “She tells him in so many words that she would be happy as a second wife. She wants meaningful conversations with him, long walks on the beach, all that dreamy stuff, and she doesn’t mind if she’s under the watch of Lwandle.”

That doesn’t mean for a second that the woman of the house is expecting to learn that her hubby has strayed. “For Lwandle, Gigi is her pastor’s daughter and a businesswoman. She isn’t aware that Gigi’s escorts get around the estate they live in, and she doesn’t know that churchgoing Gigi is the other woman in her husband’s bed,” says Nambitha.
