Tale of two babies

Two couples have very different pregnancy problems: one is fake… the other is unplanned and unwanted.

-

Marang (Sharon Seno) secretly losing her unborn baby has devastated her emotionally… and hit her in the pocket because she no longer has a hold over her oblivious ex-fiancé babydaddy James (Dingaan Mokebe). “That changed Marang from a sweet, loving woman into a woman who wants revenge at any cost,” says Sharon. Marang stayed faithful and in return she was embarrassed in front of everyone by James’s cheating. “Marang is going to do crazy things!” says the actress, adding that her character is desperate to win back “her” man. And while she doesn’t know it just yet, her solution could be on the other side of the Thathe kingdom. Royal teenager Muvhango Mukwevho (Rinae Mmbobo) got his new girlfriend Shudu (Michelle Malange) pregnant and that’s a no-no, explains Rinae. “He’s too young. He wants to get rid of the baby.”

FAKE IT ’TIL YOU MAKE IT

If you thought that Marang had done crazy things in the past, just wait. “She steals James’s sperm,” says Sharon, adding that Marang plans to be artificially inseminated on the sly and wear a fake belly until she has a bump. “She wants a baby with James and she hopes this works,” says Sharon. “Marang isn’t going to stop parading around like a pregnant woman – she’s got a fake belly and won’t let anyone touch until she really is pregnant again,” says Sharon.

A ROYAL MESS

Muvhango on other hand is hiding his baby secret. “At first he feels like it’s a trap,” explains Rinae. “He thought that he and Shudu are too young and he isn’t ready to be a father.” Not to mention that he will have to explain himself to his parents, strict nurse Susan (Maumela Mahuwa) and his womaniser dad Chief Azwindini (Gabriel Temudzani), who won’t be impressed. Before nosy Susan catches whiff of the situation, Muvhango tells Shudu to get an abortion.

But realising the seriousness of their situation, Muvhango breaks down and confides in his dad. “He is very close to his father and looks up to him as a role model, but he’s scared to tell the chief,” adds Rinae, although Azwindini has been in the same position many times thanks to his own infidelities. The chief is supportive though and Rinae says that while Azwindini “is disappointed, he’s concerned because Muvhango doesn’t know Shudu well at all”. Would it surprise you if fate brought Marang and Muvhango together and solved their problems? Anything is possible on TV…
