You’ve been cornered!

Business mogul Lehasa is in for a rough ride as he finds himself in cuffs and desperate to destroy evidence.

-

The new year is barely starting and already the usually unshakeable Lehasa (Cedric Fourie) is feeling a bit sweaty under his fancy suit – and in handcuffs! And it’s no small crime he’s being accused of: Police are convinced that he’s the man behind former Café Rovuwa employee Fanie’s (Gift Mokhaphanyane) death. And while we know that Lehasa is indeed the murderous man cops believe him to be, he would prefer to keep that little fact to himself.

HE’S THE MAN

Most determined to bring the bloody deed to light is Detective Petersen (Mortimer Williams). And he’s not alone. “There are a few who want to expose Lehasa. We have Eunice (Oratile Maitisa) and Emkay (Mlungisi Mathe) who’ll no longer keep quiet about what they know. And there’s also a certain nurse who works at the hospital where Fanie died,” explains Cedric. While the killer is still working out how to get Eunice, Emkay and the detective off his tail, Cedric has a warning for the nosey nurse. “Lehasa, being Lehasa, will try to silence her. He’ll do everything he can – lie, steal, erase and kill – to keep himself unharmed.”

SEEK & DESTROY

Detective Petersen is already celebrating his big arrest. But Cedric says our good cop shouldn’t pop the bubbly just yet. “The biggest question is can Petersen prove it?” Regardless of evidence,

Lehasa has only one defence for now: Deny, deny, deny. “Without any proof, there’s nothing the police can do,” says Cedric. And while Lehasa repeats “it wasn’t me!” in the interrogation room, he’s already conjuring up a scheme to get rid of the damning CCTV evidence. “There’s footage from the hospital that shows a disguised Lehasa going into Fanie’s room moments before he died,” Cedric reminds us.

DEAD END

The way we see it, Lehasa could end up paying for his past sins and not even a big fat cheque can get him out of this hole. “Money can only get you so far,” says Cedric. So what’s the plan? Cedric says anything is possible – including murder again. “I’m not saying that’s what he’s going to do. I’m just saying he will if he needs to…” We must admit, it’s fun seeing the cool, calm Lehasa squirm.

An arrest was made in connection with Fanie’s murder, Alfios realised that business is never easy, and Alfred was let down by a relative.
