Dineo plays mother hen to her stepdaughter Felicity and keeps Msizi from making a bad business decision.
If nothing else, Dineo Price (Kgomotso Christopher) knows how to protect those who’re close to her. “Dineo is a cold, calculating, ruthless businesswoman,” says Kgomotso in the warmest tone, “but when it comes to being a mother hen, there’s no one like her. Dineo made mistakes with her first child Sefako (Zenzo Ngqobe) when she was a teen mom. She has learnt over the years, and combined with her business skills, she’s like a lioness.” And that protective urge will come in handy when everyone comes knocking on her door for help.
Dineo’s history with her eldest stepdaughter Felicity (Mary-anne Barlow) is no secret. “They’ve done it all – business fraud, covering up murders… committing murders. They’ve got this strange friend-foe relationship, but it works and they’ve become closer since the show started,” explains Kgomotso. There are no crime cover-ups at the moment though. Instead, it’s matters of the heart that Dineo will be helping with. Felicity’s romance with cop Marco
(Nico Panagio) has reached proposal stage but Dineo is apprehensive at first, knowing that Marco could still discover that they murdered his cousin in November. “Dineo gives sound advice, she is normally the family’s moral compass,” says Kgomotso. So if she gives Felicity the thumbs up to wed, know that she’s thought through every potential pitfall. Or has she?
Dineo has had to deal with her returned lover Msizi Zulu (Siyabonga Thwala) too. And while his job at Legacy Investments is still up in the air, Msizi will be asking Dineo for a lot of help with his new solar business. “Dineo may look like a beauty pageant winner, but she’s got serious brainpower and she’s earned her place in the business world,” says Kgomotso. “She was chosen to run Legacy Investments when her murdered hubby Sebastian (Deon Lotz) planned to step down. There’s actually very little that she can’t do. Dineo has worked on multi-billion rand deals.” As adept as Dineo is with business, there will be two surprises she’s not expecting with Msizi’s new venture: He’s not telling her the entire truth… and he’s going to be wearing khaki.
