The moment that fans have been waiting for arrives at the start of the year. In a shocking twist, entrepreneur Mandla Cele (Patrick Mofokeng) recalls the events that led to his decade-long amnesia. And as Patrick points out, the flashbacks are far from what Mandla expects. “He has more questions than answers from the fateful evening that changed the course of his life.”
To begin with, Mandla remembers walking in on his wife Puleng (Thuli Thabethe) in bed with his right-hand man Papi (Thato Molamu). During the confrontation, Puleng shot Mandla and together with Papi, she tried to get rid of the body, only to learn that Mandla wasn’t dead as she believed. What followed was beyond startling. Just as Papi was about to kill Mandla properly, Mandla jumped off a bridge and disappeared for 10 years as his memory had been wiped clean.
When Mandla eventually returned home in early 2021, Puleng hid the truth about his memory loss. “Now that Mandla sees her true colours, he is shattered. He is partly in denial as he still loves Puleng. She is the love of his life, and Mandla isn’t willing to throw the towel on their marriage as they share a beautiful family and a successful construction company. He’s divided,” explains the Patrick.
With the trust out the door, Mandla and Puleng’s marriage takes strain. “A revelation like this will force Mandla to make difficult decisions regarding his future with Puleng. More than anything, I can’t wait to see him seek revenge against Puleng and Papi for separating Mandla from his kids for a decade,” says Patrick. NB! See p21.
