Hi Stella! I hate to disappoint a fan, but we couldn’t find the name of the song before we went to print with this edition. No one came back to us who was involved with the commercial. Do I have it right that you’re talking of the one with the family meeting at the braai where they share the bag of chips? And thank you for the kind words. What has happened that SABC3 can’t show any decent movies that are without vulgar language? Anonymous per SMS
I did ask this question to SABC, but I haven’t gotten a proper response. What I can say is that channels agree to a code of conduct to only broadcast certain movies and series at a certain time. For example, movies with a higher age restriction can only be shown late at night on normal family-orientated channels. If you feel a movie’s language was too vulgar for the timeslot it was shown in, I would strongly recommend that you bring it to the attention of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission Of South Africa (BCCSA), who will investigate. I’m sorry I couldn’t get the channel to give official comment. It would’ve on TV there’s nothing? Can you please find out what’s going on? Regards, Tersia Haasbroek per email

Hi Theresa. As yet I don’t have a proper answer for you from the channel, but I’m posting it to them again soon and will hear what they say. I would also like to know. I’ve lost touch a bit with the series The Walking Dead, but I would definitely like to watch the last season for closure on the series. I also dip in and out of Vikings and a know it’s a firm favourite! Hopefully I can answer you better soon!
MaZulu, your hairstyle looks ridiculous! Christine per email Hi Christine. Why do you think it looks ridiculous? I think the stylish-with-a-twist look suits MaZulu’s (Leleti Khumalo) personality in the soap Imbewu (more on p21 and 57). Maybe you can elaborate more? She had some styles through the years! The long curly look a while ago was my favourite. But then she does it! I was just as disappointed. We even wrote stories about it in the magazine. It looked like a brilliant blend of sci-fi and action. Portia Hlongwane, publicity specialist at M-Net, says they simply had too many special programmes scheduled for December, so they decided to let it stand over to this year. It’s supposed to start now on Thursday 13 January, but she also says it’s still open to change. I’m holding thumbs that 13 is our lucky number. I assume the DStv app wasn’t updated with the change. Sometimes it takes a while for the communication to filter down from the scheduling department and then reflect on the app. Frustrating, we know! look oh-so-in-charge with her hair neatly tied to the back in the bun. Different looks to suit her chameleon personality!
Good day. We watched the whole season of Naked And Afraid XL on *121 and they started broadcasting the same season again. The same happened with the series Alone on *186. Can’t we get something new? Willie per email.
Dear Willie. I also love watching Naked And Afraid. I find it fascinating. And repeats can be tedious and irritating. Usually when a channel buys a programme, they agree to air it a certain amount of times – especially while waiting for new seasons to be filmed. And I think in this case it feels like even more repeats, because due to the nudity the show can only be broadcast and repeat during adult TV watching hours. Deirdre Alexander from Multichoice adds: “Naked And Afraid is a very popular franchise. When there is a break between seasons, we do repeat the most recent season to allow viewers a chance to catch up (if they’ve missed episodes). We’re excited to bring you a brand-new season of Naked And Afraid in March 2022.”

Hi Margie, we do feature a small column with what is happening in the soaps in the USA. And it may be surprising, but it’s very popular. I recall one time that I dared to leave it out, and we were bombarded with angry readers wanting to know will happen in the future. We simply can’t feature any shows that are repeats. I do hope you at least enjoy all our wonderful features!
