Mandy Moore’s time-hopping role as Rebecca Pearson in drama series This Is Us is nothing short of incredible. With the show flipping seamlessly between different years, what’s constant is how Mandy shows Rebecca’s own character development with a quiet sense of determination and strength. “Rebecca does everything to be there for her Big Three triplets, even when facing her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease this season,” says Mandy, who was emotional during filming. “The way Rebecca is facing the future is graceful and so brave. Not letting my grief for her filter into the scenes is what I find most difficult. Sometimes I get back to my trailer and just weep,” she reveals.
1 The 37-year-old was overheard singing as a teen and a delivery guy took her demo to a friend at Epic Records – she was given a recording contract in 1999 as a 15-year-old.
2 In 2007 she performed a free concert at a high school prom dance after finding out that the school was hit by a devastating tornado.
3 The singer-actress consulted a pet psychic to find out why her cat was unhappy after moving houses. “He would cry all night. It was bad and sad. The psychic told me that firstly, my cat hated his name – Addison. And he was happy, not sad – he loved the acoustic of my new home and loved hearing his voice, so he would sing,” she reveals.
4 She’s a hiking addict and in 2019 Mandy went to the base camp of Mount Everest.
5 Mandy and her onscreen husband Milo Ventimiglia first met at an industry party for drama series Gilmore Girls in 2002, with Milo revealing in an interview that “I knew who she was. I’d had a crush on her for years.”
