Ruthless Nkosiyabo Cele finally get his throne… for now.
Nkosiyabo Cele (Muzi Mthabela) gave Moroka family elder Kabisi (Mpho J Molepo) the boot as CEO of #Ezweni Communications in February, and he’s ready to bring in a lot of changes to “his” company. But when Nkosiyabo learns that Kabisi has joined his nephew Mazwi Moroka (Musa Ngema) at #Ezweni’s rival company Moroka Media, he fears that he could loose his upper hand.
“Moroka Media is a small company, but it’s definitely a force to be reckoned with. In the short time that it has been operational, the company has grown tremendously. Mazwi and his businesssavvy uncle Kabisi are influential men with a lot of powerful contacts,” says Muzi, who is revelling in his role. And Nkosiyabo has reason to worry… someone in his inner circle is betraying him.
Even with the looming threat of Moroka Media, Nkosiyabo isn’t letting anything deter him from becoming the city’s top media mogul. “His plan is really to expand the Cele empire by taking from the Moroka family, He wants to put a paywall on #Ezweni’s news website Flying News. He wants readers to pay for premium content. Nkosiyabo may be ‘the garbage man’ as Kabisi once ridiculed him, but he’s not to be underestimated,” says Muzi.
While Nkosiyabo has control over everything at #Ezweni, he’s completely blind to his new assistant’s true intentions. Teenager Nontle Majola (Buntu Petse) is eager to get into the working environment but she can’t help but be nosy about her new boss. Nontle has never been afraid to swim with the sharks, like when she recently insisted on helping her friend Mpho (Junior Singo) on a dangerous serial killer case he was working on. Now she’s ready to take on more, even someone as powerful as Nkosiyabo.
“Nontle is a bright girl who’s just completed her matric. Plus, her mother also works at #Ezweni. Nkosiyabo has no reason not to trust her,” says Buntu, adding that it’s the perfect cover for Nontle. “She wants to get evidence of Nkosiyabo’s corrupt ways so that she can expose him. She knows how dangerous this man is after #Ezweni journalist Pamela (Zola Nombona) has warned her, but this motivates Nontle even more. She wants her reporting to have that ‘bite’.” Bontle adds that fans know about Nontle’s fearlessness. “She is working for her followers on social media. Nontle believes in doing the right thing.” If only she knew how dangerous her subject really is…
