Kevin Hart’s Car Muscle Crew

Season 1 Discovery (*121) 20:00 Reality

Comedian actor Kevin Hart loves work – and he loves cars. So he’s combing his two loves for his new reality show Kevin Hart’s Muscle Car Crew. “My best friends and I call ourselves The Plastic Cup Crew and we’re trying to set up our own muscle car club,” says the 42-year-old Kevin. “The whole point about having a car crew is to drive as a car club. It’s all about the pull up, the conversation after the pull up, leaving in the hopes that people are going to talk about the car that you’re in,” adds Kevin, who owns 20-plus cars.

Kevin is just over 1.6m tall and he’s been joked about all his life. “It’s a good thing. Because I’ve turned that ‘negative’ into a positive,” reveals Kevin – he created a videogame called Gold Ambush With Kevin Hart, where the character jumps over obstacles. He’s made over $1 million (R15 million) from the downloads already.

Before making it as a comedian, he worked as a shoe salesman and sold fastfood, which he calls “the most downgrading job ever”.

His first stand-up comedy show went so badly that an audience member threw chicken at him.

Kevin is afraid of insects. During the filming of fantasy adventure film Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, his co-star Dwayne Johnson pranked him with fake spiders on a daily basis. He was involved in a serious car crash in 2019 and had to be cut out of the wreckage when a friend lost control of his muscle car. “I was in pain daily. I needed two weeks of rehab for the pain alone,” says the actor.
