Mission It’s Possible

Vhutshilo sets out to prove his innocence

-

On bail for a crime that he didn’t commit, Vhutshilo (Wavhudi Lidzhegu) gets his mother Susan (Maumela Mahuwa) and friend Kgosi (Tebatso Mashishi) to help him prove his innocence and stop a wedding. “He didn’t push his chief dad Azwindini’s (Gabriel Temudzani) aunt, Vho-Mukondeleli (Elsie Rasalanavho) down the stairs, but to convince everyone, he needs to find the real Gugu (Bukamina Cebekhulu), his dad’s missing fiancée,” says Wavhudi. Remember that Gugu’s doppelgänger Nomasonto (also played by Bukamina) swapped places and is posing as Gugu to get her hands on the royals’ cash.

MAN WITH A PLAN

“Vhutshilo and Kgosi plan to tail Nomasonto’s girlfriend Rosemary (Gugu Mzobe) to find out where they’ve put Gugu,” says the actor. Not even death threats sent to Susan by Rosemary and Nomasonto will stop their search and they soon link the devious duo to an asylum in KwaZulu-Natal. “Kgosi is good at IT and hacked Rosemary’s phone to find the place Gugu is locked up,” says Wavhudi. “They find Gugu in bad shape at the facility. She’s drugged and doesn’t know what’s going on,” adds the actor. With help from Susan, who’s posing as a nurse at the facility, Vhutshilo and Kgosi break Gugu out and they speed home to Thathe. “The real Gugu will expose Rosemary and Nomasonto as frauds. But Vhutshilo is disappointed because Gugu has memory loss from the drugs given to her at the asylum,” says Wavhudi.

FIGHTING THE DEMONS

During the escape, Vhutshilo and his team realise how badly Gugu has been drugged. “She can barely walk. They need to hurry because Rosemary is onto them and she’s armed and dangerous,” says Wavhudi. But they pull it off and Vhutshilo, Susan and Kgosi arrive in Thathe with Gugu. Even though the real Gugu is still somewhat drugged, she’s able to stop Nomasonto stealing her fiancé. “They burst in through the doors and expose the frauds before Azwindini, who is Susan’s husband, makes a mistake,” says Wavhudi. But the ending of this is bittersweet for the royals, adds the actor. “Vhutshilo will be proven innocent while Gugu will start experiencing PTSD. But the saddest part will be the family’s decision to switch off brain-dead Vho-Mukondeleli’s life support machine. Nomasonto might just get away with murder after all…”
