A scorned lover
Vukosi’s true colours come to light after Manoko rejects his romantic advances and he exposes all her dirty secrets.
Having been unlucky with love, game ranger Vukosi (Fumani Shilubana) thought that he’d hit the jackpot with his recent one-night stand with his wealthy married boss Manoko (Rami Chuene). “Vukosi is besotted with Manoko, and he’s convinced that she reciprocates his feelings as they have a good working relationship,” explains Fumani. Besides, Vukosi and Manoko had a fantastic evening at her game lodge’s presidential suite in late April – or so he thinks…
So when Manoko ends their tryst to repair her marriage with
Richard (Ndivhoho Mutsila), Vukosi is beyond devastated. “Vukosi begs her not end their affair, and when she declines, he goes for the jugular,” explains the actor. Vukosi is on a mission to destroy Manoko’s marriage. First, he’s going to tell Richard. “What follows are a series of events that leave Manoko regretting the day she ever met Vukosi,” he teases.
BLOW BY BLOW
Let’s get one thing clear and out of the way: Manoko didn’t mean to land in bed with Vukosi. She was emotional and in need of a shoulder to cry on after her son Mahlatse’s (Elvis Nkosi) murder and Vukosi was available. They had a few drinks, one thing led to another and they had sex. However, the act means more to Vukosi than a “silly mistake” – and he wants Richard and the entire Risinga Village to know the truth. “Richard is shocked by the accusations. He doesn’t waste time in confronting Manoko, but she immediately shuts down the claims,” says Fumani, whose character isn’t about to back down.
“As Manoko’s henchman, Vukosi knows her secrets. He exposes Manoko’s rhino poaching ring and lists all of the people she’s murdered in the past year.” Vukosi promises to return with evidence to prove his accusations are fact, but not if Manoko has anything to say about it.
PUTTING OUT FIRES
Manoko can’t afford to wait for Vukosi to return with proof to destroy her life. Richard starts to doubt his wife, and she needs to save what’s left of her marriage. As a result, Manoko prepares to kill Vukosi. “But Vukosi ups the ante,” says Fumani. It’s soon revealed that Vukosi stole Manoko and Richard’s savings before he goes into hiding. “Now, Manoko is searching for Vukosi to clear the mess he made. “Vukosi feels used by Manoko and he wants her to suffer. This is only the beginning…”
