A Million Little Things

-

Season 4 M-Net (*101) 21:30 Drama

Heart-wrenching drama series A Million Little Things doesn’t hold back on emotion, says Romany Malco. And his character Rome is going through the most in the new season. “His marriage is on the verge of collapse because his wife Regina (Christina Moses) is struggling with their situation. Their adoption plan falling apart has shattered them and it’s not good where they’re at.”

Filmmaker Rome has been through it all over the seasons, with his best friend committing suicide in episode 1 to kickstart the show. And it’s something that Romany knows about. “Yes, I’ve had the same kind of loss as Rome. I’ve lost a few friends to suicide. Some when I was still a teen, some later in life,” adds the 53-year-old. “So I have some experience in what Rome is going through on that level.” Romany also knows what it’s like to be a father – he has a one-year-old son name Brave. “I’ve had stepchildren for about 13 years with my wife, her two children. We decided to have Brave later in life because it feels right now. I’m in a good place and I can translate that into my character’s trials and tribulations.”

Whether Rome and Regina will see out the season as a couple is still up in the air, explains the actor. “They love each other deeply. There’s nothing they wouldn’t do for each other, but they’ve gone through a lot lately. They’ve had heartache and heartbreak. There’s only so much that they can deal with,” says the actor. It’s not that they don’t love each other, it’s that Rome and Regina are trying to shoulder each other’s pain and suffering. “They don’t want to see each other hurting. They want to take each other’s pain on themselves. They struggle with seeing one another hurting but I don’t think that they realise how much that is actually hurting them as a couple,” says Romany.
