Struggling writer and cheating wife Pat Phelps (Courteney Cox) and her bland husband Terry (Greg Kinnear) move from New York City with their teen kids into a most definitely haunted house in a small town. Soon the ’50s-era ghostly lady of the house Rosemary Wellingham (Mira Sorvino) is helping Pat to write a sexy, steaming new book – she’s named her characters Gaylord and Cressida though, so she may want to edit that before her publisher sees it. But Pat is haunted by more than ghosts and begins to lose it.
