Life on the line

Lindelani has to make a very personal life-saving decision.

-

It’s no secret that Lindelani (Mike Ndlangamandla) and his ex-fling Mbali’s (Nelisiwe Sibiya) brother-in-lawturned-husband Thabo

(Meshack Mavuso) have a lot of hatred and bad blood between them. Especially after Mbali, who realised her love for Thabo, decided to become a loyal wife to him and ended her affair with Lindelani. But will the two men be able to put their ego’s aside to save a life?

COMAS & CLASHES

The hospital team are stunned to see Lindelani and his daughter Lwandle (Lizwi Zenani Ndumo) being wheeled in in critical state after they were involved in a car accident. More shocking is that Lwandle has slipped into a coma and is now fighting for her life. “Lindelani goes crazy. Even though he is hurt, he is more worried about his child than himself as any parent would be. As his daughter is being taken away from him to the operating theatre, you can clearly see on his face how stressed and concerned he is,” says Mike.

In the midst of all of the chaos, Mbali is heartbroken by her former lover’s situation, but everyone is hit with another shocking revelation when Thabo announces that he will not operate on Lwandle as Lindelani adamantly puts his foot down that his enemy won’t touch his daughter. “Lindelani refuses because Thabo has a history of being an alcoholic and he doesn’t believe that Thabo can save his child,” explains the actor. “This situation reminds Lindelani of his past and the accident involving his wife and Thabo. This particular incident has made Lindelani not trust Thabo, especially when it comes to his family.”

PANIC STATIONS

With both Lindelani and Thabo’s pride in the way, Lwandle’s life hangs in the balance and inevitably, in the hands of Thabo, and there is nothing that Lindelani can do about it if he wants his child to survive. But things aren’t about to go smoothly, especially when the staff of Durban General are all sent into a state of panic while Lwandle is on the operating table. “Everyone is worried,” says the actor. “Lindelani is fearful that his daughter may not make it out of the operating room. He knows that anything can happen, and he can’t help but think that he may lose his child just as he’s lost his wife.”

Fortunately, the surgery is a success and Lwandle survives. Could this be the turning point for Lindelani and Thabo and see the surgeons put their differences aside? “Possibly…” is all that Mike is willing to say.
