Ed’s letter
Surely not everyone enjoys their job quite as much as we do. I mean, watching TV for a living and having an excuse to hog the remote? My three-year-old daughter often tells me she wants to work, then promptly walks to my study, pulls up a chair and tells me to switch Cocomelon or something else on for her on one of my three screens. Then she takes a pen and paper and work like Mommy
(she thinks drawing is working too, because what else am I doing when I proofread pages and make corrections?). I don’t know how I’m going to tear myself away from the TV this fortnight. And the theme seems to be betrayal! There’s the affair in The Black Door (p24-25), the almost-poisoning of a child in Muvhango (p21), Kellerman taking Shria for her money in Imbewu (p22-23), a sidepiece in Lingashoni (p26) and lies about a staircase accident in House Of Zwide (p28). Almost too much to bear! I will balance it out with enough Teletubbies and Peppa Pig for my sanity!
