Ed’s letter
It’s always such a pleasure to meet incredible celebrities who’re as down to Earth as my Pick ’n Pay pumps. I was recently at an e.tv event and bumped into acting icon Robert Whitehead (remember him as Barker Haines in the soapie Isidingo?) and he still has that almost naughty sparkle in his eye. And what a treat it was to exchange words with Linda Sebezo (Ma Rebs in The Black Door, see p21) and the very glamorous Mzamo Gcabashe (Romeo in The Black Door). They treated all their fans with respect and posed endlessly for pics and videos. And I have to mention Gabisile Tshabalala who plays Boniswa in this soapie – talk about power coming in small packages! A heartfelt thank you to these actors who engage with the viewers who watch them daily!
PS. I’m so incredibly disappointed that we couldn’t get a Skeem Saam story or even what’s to come for this issue. We will keep trying, I promise. Happy reading and viewing!
