It doesn’t happen often but there are cases when a network decides to drop a show and it gets picked up by another broadcaster. That’s the case with court room drama series All Rise that was ditched by the network ABC after two seasons, only to get a second home on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). The shows star actress Simone Missick (Misty Knight in the superhero series Iron First) who plays
Judge Lola Carmichael, who says she screamed with joy in her backyard when she got the news. “When I found out we were going to OWN, it felt like years of vision boarding had finally come to fruition.”
In season 3, Simone will also step into the role of executive producer and adds, “I’ve always been a huge fan of Oprah as a talkshow host, producer, actor and woman, so to be on her network, which is so dedicated to telling strong stories about black women, felt like it was meant to be.” Season 3 will have tougher legal cases and the lawyers will battle it out for their clients, which includes an Instagram influencer who accuses a famous athlete of assault.
