Revenge most foul
Nomaswazi will stop at nothing to avenge her father’s death.
Nomaswazi (Omuhle Gela) isn’t one to stop once she’s put her mind to something. So when she’s told not to dig into her murdered dad’s past by his best friend Mamba (Mzwakhe Mashazi), her grief and anger won’t let her stop. “Nomaswazi was the apple of her father’s eye and he loved her very much. She felt no one else understood her like he did, and so losing him was possibly the worst pain she has ever felt. She’s angry and wants someone to pay for his death,” says Omuhle.
Her main mission is to find whoever was involved in her father’s killing, and nothing matters more to Nomaswazi. She plots and plans, and she comes up with a solution – and with her street-smart mind, IT degree and killer looks, she’s an unstoppable force.
And although Nomaswazi has never really felt understood by her mother Njinji (Thembi Nyandeni), it seems her mission to avenge her father’s death will not only bring them closer, it may just reveal how much the two headstrong women have in common.

Vika (Siyabonga Radebe), who is like a brother to her, is her mom’s favourite and this upsets
Nomaswazi because she doesn’t think that Vika is as smart as he thinks he is, and he’s certainly not as resourceful as she proves to be. Siyabonga explains this dynamic: “Nomaswazi wants nothing more than to prove herself to her mother and family, prove that she is capable of doing just as much as Vika – and maybe even better. I think this may also have an underlined story of her being female and feeling undermined when, in fact, she may just be missing the fact that her family might be trying to protect her from harm’s way.”
ZOOMING INTO NOMASWAZI
While there might not be a lot of similarities between Nomaswazi and Omuhle, both are quite daring, and Omuhle loves that about herself and her role. “Like my character, when I set my mind on something, I make sure I achieve it and nothing gets in my way,” says Omuhle. Going forward, viewers can expect the unexpected from Nomaswazi. “She has quite a lot in store – she will stand up for herself, give Vika a friendly warning, and prove to be rather resourceful in finding info that her family would have never have had access to. Nomaswazi has a way of getting her way, it’s an asset for her.” As for Vika, some may think he has the knives in for Nomaswazi, but Siyabonga says the opposite is true. “Nomaswazi is working on bettering her life and being involved in her family’s business. She makes mistakes like anyone who has the guts to try something new. Vika is trying to find out what she’s up to in order to do the same thing that she wants: Better the family business and make the family proud. He means her no harm.” As for right now, Nomaswazi won’t leave any stone unturned in her killer hunt.

IN THIS ISSUE
A decision puts a family in grave danger, and it seems that the tides have turned for Gabisile. Lilly is confronted by MaDongwe and Nonka about her outstanding debts, Lilly is shocked when her finances are a topic of discussion in the family, and Sbu learns that starting a business isn’t as easy as he’d thought. Njeza realises that there’s a new bull in his kraal, and Gabisile’s radio show helps an abused man and earns her praise from her listeners. Vika is ready to shut Nomaswazi out of his next project because he doesn’t trust her, and Gabisile almost gets burnt for playing the hero.
Lilly loses out on an important work assignment because of General, while Njeza pleads Sbu’s case to Hlelo. An important family are forced to give up one of their biggest assets to save their skin, and Hlelo gets a taste of the life Sbu has been selling her. The man who is abused by his wife has to make a decision when Gabisile comes knocking at his door, and Gabisile’s good deeds come back to bite her when she gets a threat in studio. Kwanda shocks Nonka with an unexpected proposal, and Hlelo’s new look has heads turning around town.
