Worst Year Of My Life, Again!
Season 1 SABC3 (*193) 16:30 Youth
Alex King (Ned Napier, Sam in 2013 short film Riley) in Australian live-action youth series Worst Year Of My Life, Again! is a 14-year-old who wants nothing more than to have a good day… or rather a good year without anything embarrassing happening to him. From wetting his pants at the water fountain while trying to impress the girl he likes, to being bullied by his classmate Parker (Xander
Speight, Justin De Goldi in the Australian soapie
Neighbours), Alex is always embarrassed.
So when Alex gets stuck in a loopyear and relives the worst year of his life, he takes it as an opportunity to become popular, avoid the embarrassing things that happened to him and become the ultimate prankster! But getting a second chance doesn’t mean that he can avoid everything that happened. Because people like his nemesis teacher Mr Norris
(Syd Brisbane, Terry in the drama series Aftertaste) will be out to get Alex. “It’s really fun doing this show. It’s really cheasy, like the things that happen to Alex happen in real life. So our fans, because they’re young, find the show fun and entertaining, but they also can see that these things happen all the time and sometimes to them,” says Ned, who was 18 when the show was originally filmed in 2014.
The show only lasted one season and Ned’s last acting role was in 2015, when he had a one-episode appearance as a minor character in fun mystery series
The Doctor Blake Mysteries as Tim
Webb. “It was a good time acting. I’ve enjoyed it, but I’m working in the real world now,” he says.
