Haunted House Of Zwide

Out of jail, Faith imposes herself on the Zwides again, but there’s one Zwide she hasn’t counted on…the dead one!

-

Faith (Winnie Ntshaba) was led off in handcuffs in mid July. Word had gotten out that she had a hand in killing her husband’s late wife Busi 20 years back (offscreen). And with Faith behind bars, the Zwides are relaxed, thinking that justice was finally served. It’s like they don’t even know her!

“Faith has always been manipulative; she knows what buttons to press. So she pushes her daughter Zanele (Londeka Mchunu), especially because Zanele is the only one who’s really has been there for her while in jail. Faith convinces Zanele to raise the money for her bail on 26 July, and that’s how she gets out.” Winnie reveals. But whereas justice has failed, the spirits might succeed.

THE CHEEK OF HER!

Faith’s husband Funani (Vusi Kunene) and stepson Nkosi (Wanda Zuma) are furious when Faith arrives at home unannounced – and she’s ready to fight! “Faith realises that the men have turned their backs on her, but she’s arrogant and says that she’ll just sleep in the spare room until they’re calmer. Faith takes her lawyer with her, who reminds Funani that he’s still married to her and that legally, this is still her home too. So there’s really nothing they can do,” Winnie explains. “This woman shocks me sometimes!”

DEAD WIFE SMACKDOWN

At the start of August, Faith starts hearing voices. Instead of it fading away, this voice grows and forms until it becomes a ghost that makes Faith’s life a living nightmare. “After time, Funani gets his way and Faith moves into the interns’ flat. That’s where her nightmare begins. She’s at the point where she’s admitted into a psychiatric ward – there, they tell her that it’s all in her mind,” reveals Winnie.

A short while later and discharged, Faith has a very public meltdown when she sees the ghost of Funani’s late wife who she killed. “Her past is now haunting her, she sees the ghost of this woman and she speaks to it and wrestles with it at a restaurant. This is obviously very embarrassing, and people start taking photos and videos of her. It’s bad,” Winnie says.

After a while, the ghost convinces

Faith to come clean to her family, to tell the whole truth about what happened that night many years ago, when their lives changed forever. Against her lawyer’s advice, Faith calls a family meeting. “The ghost convinces her that if she comes clean, her family will forgive her… knowing that that’s not necessarily the truth. Because she’s so desperate for her husband to understand that killing his first wife was a mistake and she did it for him, because she loves him, she comes clean,” Winnie says, adding that “Busi’s ghost isn’t done with her just yet…”
