Chantelle and Suzaan are on opposing sides during the protest, Mmakoena is injured, and Sindi is jealous when she walks in on her mother Lwandle consoling Dumisani. The Echelon and Thembalethu communities turn against Castro, Sindi’s insecurity pushes Dumisani away, and the protest leads to a tragic incident. Nkedama discovers the truth behind Melisizwe Nobengela and his family’s relocation, Lesiba walks in on Mmakoena and Castro in a compromising position, and Lwandle offers Dumisani a shoulder to lean on.
Melisizwe’s problems have followed him to Johannesburg, Lesiba is furious after he finds out about the extent of Mmakoena and Castro’s affair, and Jo’s speech at the memorial jeopardises her career. Mzolisi forces his mother Noxolo to reveal a secret, Suzaan and Chantelle make amends, and Castro takes offense at Jo’s remarks. Siya is arrested for hiding information about Shadrack’s murder, Jo is called in for a meeting with her supervisor, and Melisizwe puts a plan in motion to restore Castro’s reputation. Lwandle reaches out to her brother-in-law Siya during his time of need, Castro’s campaign in Thembalethu goes pear-shaped, Martin’s new job isn’t what he expected, and Jo is skating on thin ice at work.
