Unforgettable

-

Season 1 Universal TV (*117) 19:10 Action

Having the ability to remember everything you’ve experienced comes in quite handy when you’re a detective in New York City – which is the case with Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery, Samantha Spade in crime series Without A Trace), the lead character in actions series Unforgettable. But Carrie doesn’t work alone – she’s got help from quirky medical examiner Joanne Webster (Jane Curtin, Judge Farley in drama series The Good Fight) who has a special bond with the dead. “I don’t get queasy around gore,” says 74-year-old Jane. “I had to take a beef heart out of a dummy cadaver in one scene, and I thought ‘I could just sort of juggle these, I suppose.’”

1 She’s a comedy legend – she was one of the original cast members of famous comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live in 1975.

2 Despite loving comedy and being best known as Dr Mary Albright in ’90s comedy 3rd Rock From The Sun, she loves thrillers. “The gorier the better. I’m in love with murder mysteries and often play the boardgame Cluedo by myself as multiple characters,” she says. Acting is the family business – her cousin is screenwriter Valerie Curtin, who wrote episodes for ’90s comedy series Good & Evil.

3 She’s an ambassador for UNICEF and in 2010 she won $250 000

4 (R4 million) in a charity version of gameshow Jeopardy

5 Jane has been married to TV producer Patrick Francis Lynch since 1975 and they have a daughter named Tess who makes documentaries. “Tess is simply the best thing that has ever happened to me,” says Jane, “but she is also the most annoying thing!”
