Designers, renovators, and TV personalities Taniya Nayak, Ty Pennington and Alison Victoria reunite as presenters and mentors on reality show Battle On The Beach and they’ve moved the new season to Surfside, Texas. “We wanted to go somewhere wild and untamed to do this season, and we’ve got three beautiful homes to work on,” says Alison, who specialises in kitchen remodelling. “I’ve spent a fortune on my own kitchen and I know a thing or two about design. So it’s a lot of fun working on this show.”
1 Alison is Chicago born-and-bred and says that there’s “nothing on this planet that would make me leave The Windy City. I’ll go on holiday and be missing home after one day.”
2 The 40-year-old has been decorating for over 30 years. “My mother let me revamp her basement as a bit of a joke. I was 10 and she thought that I’d just put towels and sheets everywhere. But it was fun and she kept my design but got contractors to do it,” says Alison.
3 This is her fourth show with Ty after Rock The Block, Ty Breaker, Hotel Impossible and Flipping Across America. They first started working with one another in the early 2000s when Ty needed a kitchen overhaul himself.
4 Alison hasn’t given up on finding love but she has prepared for having children later in life – she’s had her eggs frozen for “when I find ‘the one’”.
5 She declared war on her contractor Donovan Eckhardt in season 2 of Windy City Rehab (2021) when they were sued by a number of clients due to shoddy work. It turns out Donovan had hired a team of workers who weren’t licensed and didn’t have training, which meant their work was substandard.
