DOCTOR DEATH
This grisly true-life tale centres on Dr Joseph Duntsch and there are two options: The drama series with Joshua Jackson, or the four-episode doccie. Between 2010 and 2017, 31 patients reported Dr Duntsch for leaving them in severe chronic pain or maimed following surgeries performed by the neurosurgeon. But he’d done worse – he’d killed patients too in his Dallas office.
The drama series tells Dr Death’s story through dramatisation and exploring how he was caught out, while the doccie has interviews with the detectives and lawyers who arrested and tried Dr Duntsch, as well as first-hand accounts from some of his patients who reveal shockers like Dr Duntsch being thrown out of the first two hospitals he worked at for gross negligence during surgeries.
