Romance roadblock

Will Lehasa ever be able to balance two women in his life?

-

Soon-to-be dad Lehasa (Cedric Fourie) has had a rough time lately. With his babymama Khwezi (Samukele Mkhize) trying to kill him because he chose Pretty over her, and things with Pretty on the rocks because of Khwezi’s pregnancy, things seem to be getting worse for Lehasa.

“He has just recovered from being stabbed by Khwezi, then the bomb that Khwezi is pregnant with his child dropped on him. This has put a strain on his relationship with his girlfriend, someone he sees a future with. But at the same time he still needs to honour the promise to take care of his child. And this inevitably means he also has to take care of Khwezi. How will he balance everything without upsetting anybody?” asks Cedric.

TRIALS & TRIBULATIONS

As his romance with Pretty deteriorates, Lehasa decides to do something special for her to soften her heart towards him. “Lehasa has to do damage control in order to keep Pretty by his side, and to successfully do this he plans a romantic dinner that she absolutely loves,” says the actor.

But just as Lehasa starts to enjoy his time with Pretty, his world is turned upside down when he finds out that he’s going to court soon for his murder trial. “Lehasa is shocked when he finds out his trial for killing waiter and IT genius Fanie (Gift Mokhampanyane) in August 2021 is going ahead. And adding to his worry of prison is the fact he has bad blood with the judge presiding the case,” says the actor.

A WOMAN SCORNED

While Lehasa is trying to balance everything in his life, Pretty realises the assurances she needs regarding Lehasa and Khwezi’s relationship are not as forthcoming and assuring as hoped for. While Lehasa is worrying about the upcoming trial and Khwezi’s pregnancy and only then his ailing relationship, Pretty feels neglected enough to do something desperate to get his attention – and she makes a huge mistake…

“Pretty is insecure. Her boyfriend is having a baby with another woman, and she feels like Lehasa isn’t making her feel secure and safe in their relationship. This leads to her hiding Lehasa’s phone to stop Khwezi from constantly nagging Lehasa and limit her contact with him,” says Cedric. But now how is Lehasa’s lawyer supposed to get hold of him? And who else might find the phone that may or may not have incriminating evidence against him on it?

Cunning and manipulative businessman Tenda (Nat Ramabulana) is currently planning his next move to blackmail his nemesis Susan (Maumela Mahuwa) and anyone helping her. But unfortunately for Tenda, everything is about to go down the drain when cops from Joburg travel all the way to Thathe to arrest him.

“Tenda is currently really happy that his plans are going accordingly. The next part of his plan is to get Susan to a meeting and trap her yet again. But he’s shocked when cops arrive, cuff him and take him back to Johannesburg,” says Nat. And it seems that the cops aren’t mistaken. “Tenda is being arrested for the murder of his nephew Hulisani (Burnett Gededger), who he’d shot dead in May 2021 after Hulisani took Tenda’s then-pregnant wife Mpho (Azwi Rambuda) hostage,” says Nat.

CELEBRATIONS OF JUSTICE

News of Tenda’s arrest is spreading like wildfire and his business rival James (Dingaan

Mokebe) is elated when he finds out about the situation. “To say that James is happy with Tenda’s arrest is an understatement. Right now James is on top of the world with this news, and his reason for celebration is that whatever his mom has been saying from the beginning (of Hulisani’s death) has been the truth and it can now be proven in court. For James and his family, seeing Tenda behind bars will be the justice that they’ve been waiting for after Tenda tried to murder James’s mom, the sole witness to him murdering Hulisani,” explains Nat.

FAILED MANIPULATIONS

Furious by his arrest, Tenda isn’t going down without a fight. He recruits someone even shadier to manipulate the justice system. “It’s a surprise but this person knows how to bribe court judges and sway the vote. And Tenda knows that even from inside a prison, he can still pay off law officials so that the case can go his way and he can be found innocent,” explains Nat, who is confident that his character will be cleared of murder “officially”.

What Tenda needs to remember though is that he’s in a Joburg prison and he’s not as influential compared to his status in Thathe. “He’s a sly one and this isn’t going to stop him from trying to get out. He’s like a caged animal – dangerous!” says Nat.
