Terrifying tormentor
Makhosazana doesn’t see her attacker coming.
Donsi Makhosazana (Nokulunga Kunene) is pretty satisfied with life right now. But she’s unaware of the dangerous Mandisa Vilakazi (Nomcebo Gumede), the daughter of murdered Menzi (Muzi Mthabela). She’s arrived in town to avenge her father, posing as a corporate headhunter who wants to interview Makhosazana. Instead of a getting a job, Makhosazana ends up drugged and abducted. All Mandisa wants is payback after it was recently revealed that Makhosazana murdered Menzi in December 2021 for betraying her. “Mandisa is calculated and precise in her methods. She has fun torturing Makhosazana and her alias is part of her revenge game,” explains Nokulunga.
FIGHTING FOR MONEY
After being stalked by Menzi’s lover Nirupa (Jailoshini Naidoo), who suspected Makhosazana’s involvement in Muzi vanishing, Makhosazana demands that Nirupa hand over Muzi’s money. At first the headstrong Nirupa refuses, but after learning the truth about Menzi’s dark past, Nirupa gives the money to Makhosazana as she now wants nothing to do with Menzi.
“The money that Menzi gave to Nirupa rightfully belongs to Makhosazana, which Menzi swindled from her after she had put her career on the line to steal the oil tankers from Maluju Oil in order to sell them on the black market. However, Menzi told her the tanks were switched, and the ones he helped her hijack where empty, and Menzi had stolen the profits for himself,” she explains.
A SHORT ENDING
However, Makhosazana’s joy is shortlived after Mandisa kidnaps her, ties her up and threatens to murder her. “Mandisa forces Makhosazana to resign from Maluju Oil without going to the office or meeting with anyone and that sets off alarm bells for Makhosazana’s colleague Nkululeko (Kay Sibiya), who later finds Mandisa snooping in Makhosazana’s office,” says the actress.
Despite his suspicions, Nkululeko lets Mandisa go – and it’s a costly mistake. “She lies about being Makhosazana’s friend, then when she gets back to the house where she’s holding her hostage, she brings Makhosazana’s story to an end,” reveals Nokulunga. Not for the first nor the last time, Karma has come back to bite a character who strayed from the honest, beaten path.

MaZulu is excited for Sibongile’s visit to the obstetrician but she’s unaware of her intentions, Nomusa asks Lindiwe to spy on Thu Sheleni and the girls, and Yenzekile searches for Macingwane to counter the family’s bad luck. Sizakele points out facts to Sibongile, and Yenzekile discovers the truth about her father. Sibongile decides to leave, and Shria learns why Mira is back.

Thu Sheleni’s assertions hurt Nomusa. Nirupa kicks Mira out of the house, the ice breaks between Phakade and Khanyo, and tensions flare between Mzwandile and Khanyo. Lindo encourages Nomusa to fight for Emsamo, Shria enlists the help of Jyothi, and the Bhengu household is surprised when MaNdlovu returns. Nirupa learns about Jyothi’s involvement and she turns on Shria, and Nomusa agrees to undertake a ritual. Nomusa, Thu Sheleni and Yenzekile start the ritual to undo the black magic, and Zakithi takes all the strain due to the lack of senior management at Maluju Oil.
