Sexy turns nightmare
Watch out, Cee-Jay, Me’Shell is out for some young blood.
Me’Shell (Busi Lurayi) is Layla’s (Natasha Sutherland) long-time friend and a sexy housewife who’s on the hunt for “extra-curricular activities”. And she’s taken when she meets personal trainer Cee-Jay (Thulani Hlatshwayo). Vibrant Cee-Jay catches Me’Shell’s attention and she offers to pay him a “bonus” if he’ll satisfy more than her need to stay fit and in shape. Cee-Jay should have trusted his gut instinct though, because his Me’Shell mistake is about to blow up…
A HEATED SESSION
“Cee-Jay has always had to work twice as hard to get the things he wanted, hence the extra job as a call centre agent – it’s all to keep him afloat. So when Me’Shell offers ridiculous cash to essentially do what he loves doing, he sees it as his way out of financial trouble,” explains Thulani.
Me’Shell is quite radical and she encourages Layla to join her. “Layla remembers Me’Shell being fun and full of life. She hopes that they can rekindle their friendship so that Layla can inject some fun back into her own life after mourning her son Quinton’s (Brighton Ngoma) murder for a year,” says Natasha.
“At first Layla is shocked about Me’shell’s ‘arrangement’. She’s even more shocked by Me’shell suggesting that Layla do the same, but eventually curiosity and temptation get the better of Layla. Her need to have fun and feel alive is so strong that she decides to take action and say ‘yes’ to what she believes is a move towards self-empowerment,” adds Natasha.
GUARDED DRAMA
Cee-Jay had one condition: Utter privacy, which Me’Shell promised, telling him that her businessman husband’s appointed bodyguard wouldn’t be close during their “training” sessions. But the trainer and client are busted. “They’re caught when the bodyguard walks in on them, and Cee-Jay is left beaten to a pulp,” says Thulani. You’d think that this would sober up Cee-Jay to his situation, but he’s got another coming. “It gets even more heated and risky, so much drama awaits… and my lips are sealed!” he teases.
REMEMBERING BUSI
Busi passed on 10 July and wasn’t able to complete her Me’Shell arc herself. Her friend Thuli Thabethe stepped in to take over the remaining scenes, not for the first time: Thuli took over Busi’s role as Phumzile on local comedy series City Ses’La when Busi left the show in 2006.

Layla is hurt that her selfless act won’t save the day after all, Javas is forced to keep a straight face during an interrogation, and tender fever has everyone angling to jump on the bandwagon. A woman makes a risky proposal that could cost her dearly, Mbali discovers evidence that makes her suspicious, and Ndu’s high spirits are dampened. A woman is enraged to realise that she has played right into her own downfall, Mbali starts to investigate what could be a huge future problem, and Ndu receives a mysterious call that could make all of his problems go away. Layla takes things a step further, and Cee-Jay can’t believe what he’s hearing. Ndu tries to stay strong under pressure but he has no idea of how dangerous the situation really is, and Winnie tries to be defiant but she’s no match to Mbali.
