It wasn’t easy for actor Terry Crews to make his mark in Hollywood after his pro football career ended in ’97. He spent years with small roles and TV ads, getting his breakthrough role in 2002 comedy movie Friday After Next. “I haven’t looked back and every day working is a blessing,” says the 54-year-old, who’s been hosting reality talent show America’s Got Talent since season 14 (2019).

1 Terry grew up in a strict Christian house in Flint, Michigan and was raised by his mother Patricia Ann Simpson. Terry’s relationship with his dad Terry Sr wasn’t healthy as his dad was an abusive drunk.

2 To earn money during college and as an athlete, Terry drew portraits of people and his teammates. He also worked as a court sketch artist for few years, and earlier this year he released his first self-animated graphic novel titled Terry’s Crew.

3 In 2014 in Terry’s autobiography Manhood: How To Be A Better Man Or Just Live With One, he admitted to having a long-standing addiction to pornography that seriously affected his marriage to his music minister wife Rebecca

King-Crews. He went for rehabilitation, and he and Rebecca are still married after 34 years together.

4 Terry’s fitness is legendary and it’s something he prides himself on. “I wake up at 05:00 daily,

I’m done with my workout by 08:00, and I can get my day going. There’s structure to my world,” he says.
