Maharaj the master

Will Sunil’s evil plans burn to ashes or come to fruition?

-

Master manipulator Sunil Maharaj (Jack Devnarain) returned to Umbumbulu after being away for months at an undisclosed location receiving treatment for his kidney problem while being in violation of his parole. He’s returned with two sole purposes: To seize control of and own the Bhengu family company Maluju Oil, and to reconnect with his daughter Shria (Kajal Maharaj) and ex-lover Nirupa (Jailoshini Naidoo) in hopes of becoming a happy family. Fortunately, things seem to be going exactly the way Sunil wants, especially since he has the Bhengu family’s daughter-in-law Nokuzola (Vuyiseka Cawe) doing his dirty work and getting him what he wants.

“Sunil wants to be in control and have power over everything. His arrival back home allows him to worm his way into the wheelhouse that is Maluju Oil, and to do this he has targeted Nokuzola, on whom he has the perfect leverage,” says Jack. “He blackmails her into helping him get rid of his criminal record in exchange for the information that Nokuzola needs to find her missing child.”

CRIMINAL CONNECTIONS

In the midst of trying to get a pardon from the Department Of Justice, Sunil is contacted by a notorious gangster. “Sunil and this mysterious character knew each other as young men and were really close. So, when Sunil’s friend gets out of prison, he naturally reaches out to Sunil for financial help to get back into business in the underworld. And since their relationship is that of trust but also give and take, only time will tell if Sunil will use this shady person in his plan,” says Jack.

DISCOVERIES & LEGACIES

While Sunil is establishing his connections and slowly slithering his way into Maluju Oil, Maluju CEO Zakithi (Nokubonga Khuzwayo) is stunned to learn that the angel investor of the company is Sunil himself. “When Zakithi finds out it was Sunil who put money into Maluju Oil, she’s mortified and humiliated because she can’t kick Sunil out of the company because without his investment, the big project that Maluju Oil is working on will tank. This is a step closer to victory and building the Maharaj legacy that Sunil one day hopes to hand over to Shria,” says Jack.

However, we’ll have to wait to see if Sunil will really be the one to come out of this game of power victorious, especially since Nokuzola seems to be planning to get him out of the way…
