Fire Country

Season 1 M-Net (*101) 19:00 Action

Shows centring on fires turn up the temperatures on our screens and it’s time for a new one to fan that flame – Fire Country, co-created by lead star Max Thierot (Clay Spenser in the action series SEAL Team), who plays convict Bode Donovan, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of some of Hollywood’s biggest-ever movies.

Bode has a troubled past and as a convict, he feels that it’s time to redeem himself and he tries to reduce his prison sentence as a member of the prison’s firefighting program.

“He is eager to put his life back together but he’s not really prepared for where he’s sent,” says Max. “Bode is sent to the Three Rock camp near the town of Edgewater . . . where he’s from.” Being so close to home puts Bode in a tight spot because he’s got to work with people he knows, from childhood friends to family. “He’s the local black sheep, so his emotions go wild and he doesn’t know how to contain himself,” adds Max. “I grew up in a small town like Edgewater and a lot of my friends do this kind of work, so it’s humbling for me to have this role,” says the actor.

Bode is estranged from his parents Sharon (Diane Farr, Francesca in fantasy series Charmed), who is a high-ranking Chief in Cal Fire and Vince (Billy Burke, Charlie Swann in the Twilight movies), the Edgewater Fire Chief, because of an incident with his sister Riley (Jade Pettyjohn, Grace Sullivan in the drama series Big Sky) who passed away.
