LIMITLESS WITH CHRIS HEMSWORTH
“I may be in pretty decent shape. Sure, I look like an immortal Norse god, etc,” jokes Chris Hemsworth, “but I know the clock is already ticking . . . What scares me is not being able to play with my grandkids or be active (and do) all the things I love to do. It’s a battle against what time can do to us.” Driven by the desire to see exactly what his body would be capable of in the future, the 39-year-old actor assembled a scientific team for his National Geographic co-production Limitless. “I’m teaming up with the world’s leading longevity experts, taking on six of the toughest tests of my life, pushing myself to the very limit. I want to discover how we can all unlock the secrets of living,” says Chris.
For Limitless, Chris took part in a series of experiments, from walking along a crane arm placed over the edge of a skyscraper, to swimming across a fjord in water temperatures just over 2 degrees, to fasting for four days straight. He completely reshaped his body, found his way in the wilderness without a GPS or map, and spent three days in a retirement home while wearing a special suit that would mimic the effects of ageing on his body. “It was one extreme after another, where I was the guinea pig,” says Chris.
