SAPS MAKES BIG DRUG ARREST

Watch out criminals, our police are on to you! A joint operation by Howick SAPS Community Service Centre shift workers and SAPS’s Pietermaritzburg Canine unit arrested a well-known 30-yearold Howick drug dealer last week on the corner of Bell Street and Somme Street.

Police recovered a panga, a knife, 20 whoonga capsule, 10mg of rock crystals as well as 50 empty capsules. The man was to appear in Howick Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. Howick SAPS said he was well known and the most wanted drug dealer in the area.

Howick’ crime prevention unit also arrested a shebeen owner, and in the operation recovered 530 whoonga capsules, five mandrax tablets, 180 litres of liquor, a laptop, five cellphones and cash to the value of R3922-00. Howick SAPS is justifiably very proud of its recent arrests as it cleans up the streets of our town by locking up criminals.
