ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME LAUNCHES

-

Love Howick is partnering with My SME, an industry leader in entrepreneurship training and business coaching, and local training consultants, META, to offer residents in the KZN Midlands the chance to take part in a new entrepreneurship programme.

Director, Matt Hogarty, said they hoped the new programme would help to curb the negative effects of unemployment and poverty in the local community.

He added: “This programme has been designed specifically for those launching new business ideas, as well as those interested in learning how to grow their existing business.”

The programme consist of 36 online instructional videos, four group tutorials, access to IT and learning support, as well as the opportunity to attend a ‘Pitch Night’, where each student will get the opportunity to present their business plan to a panel of local business leaders.

“Students who perform well in this programme will also be selected for a 12-week business coaching journey that has been set up by My SME to mentor, encourage and help entrepreneurs to get their business start-ups launched successfully,” Hogarty said.

“This whole programme is being offered to each student for R1

890, due to the generous support of donors and local residents, who are sponsoring some of the aspiring entrepreneurs, so that we can keep costs to a minimum, and ensure as many viable businesses as possible are launched in the coming months.”
