The Hilton Bowling Club’s Queen’s Cup competition, played on Wednesday last week, was a great success with 36 players participating.
Afterwards they enjoyed a most delicious lunch and prizes, sponsored by the Hilton Quarry Spar, for which we are most grateful.
The winners of the cup and vouchers were Jean Pluke, Nina Guest and John Bayley, with Margie Garrard, Janet Fairhurst and Steve Erskine second (vouchers). Fred Palmer, Arthur Daugherty and Monica Rossouw received wine for finishing third.
On Saturday, the eighth round of league was played. The men’s 2nd league won their game against Collegians. Unfortunately, the men’s third league lost against Maritzburg West and the ladies also received a Meander meat pack.
