JOOMA PROPERTIES SPONSOR KZN INLAND JUNIOR LEAGUES

-

The KwaZulu-Natal Inland Cricket Union is partnering with Pietermaritzburg property giants, Jooma Properties, to unearth talent in the region.

The firm has been granted the naming rights for the Inland development leagues, which will now be known as the Jooma Properties League.

Jooma Properties, which has been in the business for at least 28 years, now sponsors the under nine, 11, 13 and under 15 leagues. KZN Inland cricket services manager Jason Sathiaseelan said: “We are grateful for this wonderful partnership with Jooma Properties and want to thank hahin Jooma (founder of the company) and Jooma Properties for their contribution to grassroots cricket at KZN Inland.

“The success of club cricket is determined by junior structures, and we have encouraged all clubs to have junior teams. This contribution from Jooma Properties will enhance that project.”

Jooma said they wanted to see more local players becoming wellknown and respected cricketers in future.

“Young players or the junior leagues are the future of cricket. For the region to continue producing top cricketers, we need to take care of our pipeline,” he added. “There’s a lot of talent at grass roots level. Yes, some of the youngsters have good opportunities in their schools but it’s not all of them who have those kinds of opportunities.

“KZN Inland is offering these youngsters a chance to showcase their talents, but they also needed some motivation and as Jooma Properties we thought let’s play our part by sponsoring the league.”
