Christmas card from the Queen

- Chris Black, Edinburgh (former headmaster of Cowan House)

The death of Her Majesty, the Queen, was for me particularly poignant. I was honoured to have met the Queen as a school parent on a number of occasions during the 1970s. For those few years I was privileged to be teacher to her youngest son, Prince Edward, and I also had the responsibility of regularly chaperoning him, his brother, Prince Andrew, and a few friends on our annual school skiing trip to Austria. After Prince Edward’s final term at junior school, I was touched to receive a Christmas Card from Her Majesty and Prince Philip.
