INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER CHOIR

TO PERFORM AT HERMANNSBURG

-

The chamber choir (‘Kammerchor’) of the Domgymnasium Verden is visiting South Africa until October 26 to perform concerts in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

The choir and soloists will sing at Hermannsburg on Saturday, October 22 at 6.30pm in the church hall, along with Hermannsburg’s school choir and soloists.

A series of workshops will also be held with the school’s musicians during the preceding week.

The ‘Kammerchor’ from Verden is one of the most successful youth choirs from Lower Saxony in northern Germany.

Formed more than 50 years ago, it currently has 30 singers between the ages of 14 and 20 years, and is one of several choirs at the school.

Under the direction of Vanessa Galli since 2017, the choir regularly travels through Germany, meeting different choirs from all over the world to learn about different cultures and make friends through music.

The Hermannsburg concert will include a mixed programme of secular and sacred music from Europe and South African, mostly a cappella. Contact the school on school@hmbschool.co.za for more information.
