Confirmed vendors include Midlands Fable restaurant and taproom, the live fire chefs of Bonfire Cookout, Gourmet Greek, Indezi River Creamery, Romesco Olives, Koko's Restaurant, Esposito, Polished Pancakes, Olde Ice Cream Shoppe by Oasis Prep School, the rums and rum cocktails of Sugar Baron Rum, Home Slice, N2 Bakery, The Midlands Festival, Break Room, Tasha’s Fantastic Fudge, Fat Pig Smokehouse, and Legacy Coffee Co.

“Hosted by Love Cities, the market it set to become a monthly affair with Midlands Fable hosting it for the first three months,” said Sarah van Heerden, spokesperson for the event.

“Not only is it aimed at embracing the developing mobile foodie culture of the Midlands, but this market also aims to promote tourism trade, showcase the amazing areas and products on offers in the Midlands and support initiatives of Love Cities, a division of Love Howick.”

While the grown-ups enjoy the picnic areas, seating and live music from Grace Botha, Blackbird and DJ Jay on the decks, the little ones will be kept busy with jumping castles, face painting and outdoor exploration.

Botha is a singer who enjoys the stage and shares her renditions of well-known songs, as well as originals, while accompanying herself on piano or guitar. She studied jazz at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College campus in Durban and amalgamates her love for jazz, pop, folk and soul.

Botha enjoys singing with local musicians and sings regularly at weddings, local restaurants and events.

Blackbird features the talents of Tanya Nicolson and Charles Webster. Their diverse repertoire covers sultry jazz, upbeat folk, Indie styles with soul, and twists on contemporary classics.

The November line up will feature a performance by Matt Gardiner. The entry fee is a donation to Love Cities, which will use the money to expand and support the efforts of Love Howick, Love Notties and Love Mpophomeni.

Love Cities operates by creating platforms for public/private partnerships between key sectors of local communities to deliver the vision of prosperous communities emerging across the country, where all roleplayers work together to transform the people, places, and the environment of their communities to create a positive future for our children’s children.
