Village Talk

Hilton Bowling Club

-

On Thursday, following tabs in, the annual general meeting was held with more than 50 members attending. A new executive committee was nominated and we welcome Tony Barrington as the new President. Grateful thanks go to Ingrid Oellermann, who has ably held the position for the past two years.

The meeting was followed by a talk on fundraising to promote NIBA bowlers in national competitions by Mark Taylor and prize-giving. Congratulations to all the trophy winners.

Our new green keeper will be Hans Veenstra,

who takes over from Arthur Daugherty, who has conscientiously looked after the green for more than six years and spent many hours at the club. Sincere thanks

Arthur!

On Wednesday, the sponsored trips by Artisan’s/build It were played. Well done to the winners - Syd Fincham, Heather Rice and Gunther Schroeder (Artisan vouchers). The runners-up were Mike Lowell, John Fowler and Debbie Elliott (Build It vouchers) and the winnners of the losers were Barend van der Merwe, Andy Hitchcock and Graham Kershaw (vouchers).

Many thanks again to our sponsors without whom these competitions would not be possible.
