Camera maker Leica is known for intentionally producing cameras in limited quantities. Its newest offering – the Leica Q2 Daniel Craig x Greg Williams – is even more rare and special than usual.
The super-limited-edition Leica Q2 Daniel Craig x Greg Williams – just 750 units have been made – brings together award-winning actor Daniel Craig and acclaimed British photographer
Greg Williams, who has captured many iconic Hollywood moments. The pair worked together on numerous James Bond titles, but it was their love of the Leica brand that made this collaboration something about which they were both immediately enthusiastic.
The Leica Q2 Daniel Craig x Greg Williams is based on the Leica Q2, and has a 47.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor, Maestro II Image Processor and Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens. It shoots in 4K and ISO 50-50000 at up to 10 frames per second. It also features a 3.68MP OLED viewfinder, 3.0” touchscreen, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and weather-sealed construction. And then there is the simply gorgeous casing. The body of the Leica Q2 Daniel Craig x Greg Williams has visible elements and engravings defined in black and painted in gold, including a couple of firsts for Leica: its sequential serial number will be laser-engraved under the display glass, and the traditional red Leica logo appears here in black and gold.
All this makes for a luxurious yet uniquely distinctive camera with an understated design – and did we mention the Nappa-leather strap and diamond-patterned leather cover? The final finishing touch is a hinged-lid presentation box with gold lettering and black silk lining.
