DESIGN JOBURG 2022: THE RETURN

Appropriately held in South Africa’s most AFROPOLITAN CITY, the country’s edgiest DESIGN AND DECOR SHOW is back between 17 and 22 May.

ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DESIGN AND DECOR CALENDAR, Design Joburg is now in its fourth year, and is set to be a full-scale showcase of the best in local interiors and design, fashion, architecture and sustainable design practices. It will again shine a light on where new talents are putting their energy, and what the future holds for design as a vehicle of change in southern Africa and beyond. Design Joburg will run from 19 to 21 May 2022 at the Sandton Convention Centre; the fringe event – Design Joburg Collective (which will include trend talks, industry walk-arounds and networking events) – kicks off on 17 May, and will be live in nearby decor and design districts of Kramerville and 44 Stanley. Both events will present an opportunity to enjoy an intense design download at your leisure – so coordinate your visits with friends and client meet-and-greets, and dip into the sessions that appeal.

CREATIVE PANEL Visual artist Trevor Stuurman (above far right, centre), ideas synthesiser Sir Abner Makgamatha (above left), interiors maven and Cocoon Lifestyle founder Bilala Mabuza, and artist and creative director Manthe Ribane form Design Joburg’s creative panel. They’ve pooled their resources to create a deeply immersive experience that embraces technology and innovation, sustainable design practices and explorations.
