NEXT IS NOW WITH THE ALL NEW LEXUS NX
The second generation of the LEXUS NX mid-sized luxury SUV opens the next chapter for the brand, heralding new directions in DESIGN, TECHNOLOGY and POWERTRAINS, and a leap forward in dynamic performance.
FIRST INTRODUCED IN 2017, the original Lexus NX has been one of the brand’s best-selling cars – and the all-new model is equipped to do even better. It features next-generation Lexus design, technology and performance with the debut of the impressive Tazuna cockpit concept, as well as new safety and connectivity standards, and three advanced powertrains.
The NX 250 EX has a responsive 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission with two-wheel drive. It provides the brand’s lightest and most agile mid-sized luxury SUV experience.
The NX 350h is the carmaker’s latest hybrid arrangement, built around a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s assisted by an electric motor. It allows for an impressive fuel consumption figure of 5L/100km, and a 0-100km/h sprint time of 7.7 seconds.
Topping the range is the all-wheel-drive NX 350 F-Sport with a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and impressive
0-100km/h acceleration of just seven seconds. In addition, every NX model comes with the Lexus Warranty Experience, featuring a best-in-class seven-year/105 000km warranty and full maintenance plan.
TAZUNA COCKPIT CONCEPT The human-centric Tazuna cockpit concept features a 14-inch touch display, DAB+ digital radio, “Hey Lexus!” natural speech recognition, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Joining this high-grade digital instrument cluster is a colour head-up display with capacitive steering wheel controls. Smartphone compatibility is standard, with a wireless connection as a complimentary update for all newgeneration NX owners.
SAFETY New across-the-range safety technologies include NX-first intersection turn assist and emergency steering assist; a pre-collision system with pedestrian and daytime cyclist detection; parking support brake with obstacle and vehicle detection; blind-spot monitor; dynamic radar active cruise control; and lane-tracing assist. You also get safe exit assist, which incorporates the new, electrically activated e-latch door handles that can detect cyclists or vehicles passing close by, and can keep the door closed to prevent a collision. And, for the first time in South Africa, the Lexus Safety System+ is available across the range in the NX.
COLOURS AND TRIM The NX range comes in nine colours – Sonic Quartz, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome, Graphite Black, Terrane Khaki, Celestial Blue, Blazing Carnelian, Black and Madder Red – while the F-Sport variants are also available in White Nova and Poseidon Blue.
There are three trim upholstery colours – Hazel, Black and Rich Cream – available for the EX grade. F-Sport grades are exclusively available in F-Sport Black, F-Sport White and the new F-Sport Flare Red. lexus.co.za
