Tasty affair on the menu in Mossel Bay

- TANYA WATERWORTH

CELEBRITY chefs and foodies from around the country are on their way to the first Proe Mosselbaai Food Festival, which takes place next week.

On from Thursday to Sunday, the show will include talks by MasterChef judge Pete GoffeWood, culinary veteran Ina Paarman, blogger Sam Linsell, and MasterChef SA, The Cookbook author Errieda du Toit.

Du Toit said the Mossel Bay food festival would be “the cherry on the cake as part of my wonderful culinary journey of the Karoo”.

“In South Africa, food plays an integral part in our social entertainment and the way we spend our leisure time. The heart of food is sitting around a table and sharing.”

Hein Scholtz, senior producer of The Dr Mol Show, which has a holistic health and wellness focus, will also be talking about his cookbook Munch, which is ideal for students, young professionals and firsttime cooks.

There’ll also be talks on creating a perfect table setting, while Johan de Villiers and Len Straw, authors of Once Upon a Chicken Pie, will talk about their travels and food.

There will also be “meet the author” sessions, where foodie lovers can take along their cookbooks to be signed.

Event organiser Nelma Ruschioni said the event had been endorsed by the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
