This ad is just not golf etiquette

WHAT a shocker of an ad this is, not only because it’s targeting a market that probably has never played golf, nor ever wants to, but because whoever arranged the picture just simply did not do their homework. A few glaring errors. It is an absolute no-no to put your golf bag down on the putting green. There are two golf bags on the green.

The chap in red is sinking his putt into a hole created by photoshop, as the flag is clearly sticking out of the ground on the right hand side, unless it’s being held by a caddie who is about 5m tall.

The remaining players clearly didn’t make it to the green, as they are all holding clubs other than putters. Again, it would be unacceptable for a player to lean on a club on a putting surface as Mr White Shirt is doing.

The only person wearing a cap is the woman who is supposed to look like a player, but is wearing a long skirt – another first for the golf course.

In addition, she’s wearing takkies. It’s just not cricket.

One should never park or drive a golf cart close to the green.

Thankfully, the copy is error-free, although a little under-whelming.

Nonetheless, a festering Onion to them.
