CONGRATULATIONS to Gail Wales-Wright, of Kenilworth, for her picture of a chapel on the Channel Islands in the UK.

“This tiny, enchanting chapel on Guernsey is very much on the tourist map. Every inch of the interior and exterior is a mosaic of broken china, smashed pottery and crushed shell. One island priest did this all by himself, so the locals will tell you he must have made pastoral visits with a sledgehammer.”

Wales-Wright wins a R300 meal voucher at Blowfish Restaurant in Dolphin Beach, Blouberg.

The runners-up are Lance Rumbelow, of Flamingo Vlei, for his picture of an old watermill in Scotland and Marianne Peacock, of Hout Bay, for her picture of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

Rumbelow’s travels took him past this watermill by chance.

“It was in the small town of Killin on the banks of the River Lochay near Loch Tay. We were driving for miles, following our TomTom satnav, which we eventually realised was faulty. It showed us some awesome scenery, though.”

Peacock says her trip to the Okavango Delta was unforgettable. “It’s one of Africa’s most beautiful oases. We stayed in Gunn’s Camp, a tented camp, located on Ntswi Island on the edge of the Moremi reserve. It was a glorious June evening and the setting sun transformed the landscape into a colourful painting with beautiful reflections in the water.” Competition rules: ● All photographs must relate to travel, and you may enter as many as you like.
