Centre brings shops close to home for Dunoon residents

-

THE new Shoprite- anchored The Stables shopping centre in Dunoon is nearing completion and the developer, Annenberg Property Group, expects it to open on May 1.

The centre is being built by Gorfin Construction and will provide much-needed formal shopping for the 80 000 residents of Dunoon. The centre will be anchored by a 2 721m² Shoprite. Other tenants include Shoprite Liquors, Frydays, Kenilworth Racing, and New Look Cosmetics. There will be ATMs for the four major banks.

“The 5 372m² centre has 27 line shops, of which only three remain vacant,” says Dudley Annenberg, of Annenberg Property Group.

“MLH Architects have designed the centre to provide the line shops with maximum exposure to the entrance of Shoprite as well as to Potsdam Road. Shoppers will benefit from an excellent mix of tenants, providing fast food, cloth- ing, cosmetics, furniture and financial products.

“Gorfin Construction has provided about 100 temporary jobs to the community during construction of the centre and we expect a number of permanent jobs to be created once the centre opens.”

The Stables is just one of a number of improvements in the area. Others include the new BRT bus lane, upgraded roads and services and several developments.

The recently opened Sandown Road provides vastly increased traffic flow past the centre.

The property is for sale by tender, by Annenberg Property Group.
