CONGRATULATIONS to Olivia de Villiers of Hout Bay for her picture of the the Plitvicka Lakes in Croatia.

After an 8km walk, two bus rides and a ferry trip, they came upon the lakes.

“My family and I had been taken on a breathtaking journey through one of the most beautiful places in the world – the Plitvicka Lakes in Croatia.

“We walked along the rustic boardwalks, each turn in the path tempting us deeper and deeper into this seemingly magical world. The waters had an almost luminous quality which highlighted the fish swimming in these crystal clear waters. The water flowed over the rocky cliffs, cascading ever so gracefully into the turquoise pools that lay beneath. It was almost surreal in its untouched perfection.”

Villiers wins a mid-week night’s stay for four people at Montagu Springs.

The runners-up are Steve Smith, of Pinelands, for his picture of a beach in Mozambique, and Sandy Williams, of Claremont, for her picture of the Giant’s Causeway in Ireland.

Smith recently visited Mozambique and enjoyed the breathtaking view of a beautiful beach in Pomene when the storm clouds set in.

William’s enjoyed travelling around Ireland. “Everything is so green and I love the views where the ragged mountains meet the sea in this picture of Giant’s Causeway.” Competition rules: ● All photographs must relate to travel, and you may enter as many times as you like.
